Don and Danae Owens are directors of The Port Royal Society, a U.S.-based non-profit organization promoting the reading and application of ancient books.  Danae works in real estate and Don in insurance.

Both enjoy travel and aimed to share the world with their children before they grew up and started their own lives.  The investment of time and energy in travel and adventure built two fearless children who are nothing now married with children of their own.

Danae and Don live part time in Fort Worth, Texas and Leadville Colorado.  They fell in love with Leadville in 1996 when they visited because the city was mentioned in a Jimmy Buffett lyric.

Both created adventure groups in order to build friendships and connections, Don and David Rutherford started a mens group called The May Club and Danae started a group for women called The Road Dawgs.
